Grading is one of the most important parts of making mountain property usable and controlling water. Carolina Dozer provides rough grading, finish grading, slope shaping, terrace construction, drainage correction and general property reshaping throughout Western North Carolina.

Grading designed around terrain and drainage

We reshape yards and building areas, cut or widen terraces, correct negative drainage, improve driveway pitch, build swales and diversion ditches, taper steep banks, prepare areas for gravel or lawn and repair erosion caused by concentrated runoff. When a site has a larger water problem, grading can be combined with surface-water mitigation, culverts and outlet work.

Rough grading and finish grading

Rough grading creates the basic shape of the site: building pads, access routes, slopes, terraces and drainage paths. Finish grading refines those elevations so the property sheds water correctly and is ready for gravel, topsoil, lawn or the next construction phase. Our crews use excavators, skid steers, dozers and laser or transit equipment as needed to establish practical grades.

Slopes, terraces and usable land

Mountain properties often need more than a flat pad. We can widen narrow benches, create usable terraces, reshape steep banks and transition disturbed slopes into stable grades. Where erosion or slope movement is already present, the work may connect with slope and bank stabilization or landslide repair.
