Drainage & Surface Water Mitigation

Service Image

Carolina Dozer provides drainage and surface-water mitigation for mountain, rural and residential properties throughout Western North Carolina. Many erosion, driveway and slope problems begin with water moving across a property in the wrong place. Instead of treating only the damaged area, our crews look at where runoff begins, how it crosses the site and where it can be safely discharged.

Mountain drainage planned around the whole property

Drainage work can include diversion ditches, swales, berms, culverts, outlet improvements, driveway cross-drainage, regrading, riprap placement and reshaping areas that collect or concentrate runoff. When a driveway is washing out, a bank is eroding or water is reaching a foundation, the grading and drainage usually need to be addressed together. We can coordinate this work with grading, driveway construction, erosion repair and slope stabilization.

Common drainage problems we address

Typical calls include water running down gravel driveways, ditches that no longer carry runoff, undersized or damaged culverts, runoff from an upper road or hillside, negative grade around structures, erosion below downspout outlets and concentrated water crossing steep slopes. The correct solution depends on elevation, soil, slope, discharge location and access for equipment.

Carolina Dozer serves Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, West Jefferson, Wilkesboro, Ferguson, Deep Gap and surrounding Western NC communities. Schedule a site assessment so the drainage problem can be evaluated from the source of the water through its final outlet.
