SERVICES

Landslides and slope failures in Western North Carolina are often caused by a combination of steep terrain, concentrated surface water, poor drainage, disturbed soils and previous cuts that are too steep. Carolina Dozer repairs damaged slopes and helps reduce the conditions that can cause continued erosion or movement.
Every site is different. Before shaping the failed area, we look at where runoff is coming from, whether upper roads or ditches are concentrating water, how steep the slope is and what access is available for equipment and material. Repairs may include removing unstable material, reshaping or benching slopes, installing diversion ditches, correcting drainage, placing riprap, rebuilding washed-out access and compacting suitable fill.
A slope can be regraded and still fail again if water continues to reach it in the same way. Carolina Dozer can combine landslide repair with surface-water mitigation, bank stabilization and grading. Where appropriate, disturbed soil can be restored with seed, topsoil and erosion-control matting after the heavy work is complete.
Our project portfolio includes landslide and bank work in West Jefferson, Deep Gap and Newland, plus erosion and drainage work throughout the High Country. We regularly work on mountain properties where steep access and water management are just as important as the excavation itself.
For river and creek properties, related work may fall under riverbank reclamation. For smaller eroding banks without a full slope failure, slope and bank stabilization may be the better fit.
Carolina Dozer serves Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, West Jefferson, Deep Gap, Newland and surrounding Western NC communities. Schedule a site assessment so the slope, drainage, access and repair options can be evaluated together.
